Jill Fields is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) having earned her Master’s degree in counseling from the University of Tennessee in 2005, after completing undergraduate work at East Tennessee State University. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the Tennessee Public Safety Network, a first response organization providing Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD). Her experience is working with individuals during and after a traumatic event such as suicide or the unexpected death of a loved one, sexual assault, workplace violence, intimate terrorism, and domestic violence. She is passionate about meeting her clients where they are and offering empowerment through symptom management and recovery. She views herself as a collaborator, advocate, and nurturer in the counseling relationship and seeks opportunities to support clients towards a more hopeful, healthier life.

Her approach to counseling is integrative, combining various forms of psychotherapy within the EMDR framework to adapt to client needs. Some of the techniques she uses are rooted in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Family Systems, Attachment Based Theory, Trauma Informed Therapy, and Somatic Therapy. Her areas of clinical focus include complex trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, attachment disorders, mood disorders, grief and loss, and life transitions.
