Katie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and an experienced professional EMDR Therapist. Katie completed EMDRIA approved training for EMDR in 2019, and uses EMDR to help clients with different diagnoses including PTSD, anxiety disorders, and depressive disorders. Katie is also trained in S.A.F.E. EMDR, which incorporates attachment focus and somatic therapy into the EMDR process. Katie comes to us with over a decade of experience in the behavioral health field as a psychotherapist. Katie holds a Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from the University of Tennessee Knoxville and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Middle Tennessee State University. Katie's passion is helping individuals heal from complex traumas, using a multidimensional approach to psychotherapy, with a focus on EMDR. An experienced professional with nearly 15 years in the field, Katie has extensive experience working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Katie has also worked as a psychotherapist, front line advocate, community trainer, and as a consultant to government agencies on the implementation of trauma informed care.
